Molar City is the name dental tourists know Los Algodones by — a small town on the U.S.–Mexico border that has become one of the world's most trusted destinations for affordable, high-quality dental care. Since 2007, Molar City has guided thousands of patients from the United States and Canada to safe, world-class treatment just steps across the border.

How Molar City started (2007)

It began in 2007, when Ramón Sánchez — a web developer from Sonora, Mexico — first visited Los Algodones after his father described a one-of-a-kind border town built around dentistry. He found hundreds of clinics but almost no reliable guidance for the tourists arriving every day, so he set out to fix that.

From 2010 to 2013, Molar City printed and handed out a free map of the town — around 20,000 copies a year — helping visitors reach trusted clinics. That map grew into the digital platform you're reading now, MolarCity.com.

From a simple directory to a trusted guide

During the 2020 pandemic, Molar City evolved from a basic clinic directory into a curated recommendation service — personally guiding each patient to the right clinic for their needs, budget and treatment. Today we publish 150+ guides and articles and reach hundreds of thousands of patients every month, 86% of them from the United States.
