About Trelegy
Trelegy Ellipta (fluticasone furoate / umeclidinium / vilanterol) is a once-daily maintenance inhaler made by GSK that combines three medicines in one device: an inhaled corticosteroid (fluticasone furoate), a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (umeclidinium) and a long-acting beta-agonist (vilanterol). Each Ellipta inhaler holds 30 doses, about one month of treatment.
It is prescribed for long-term maintenance treatment of COPD (chronic bronchitis and emphysema). The 100/62.5/25 mcg strength is also approved for asthma in adults; the 200/62.5/25 mcg strength is used only for asthma. It is not a rescue inhaler. In Mexico it is sold under the same Trelegy name, in a box with one Ellipta inhaler.
What it is used for
Long-term, once-daily maintenance treatment of COPD (chronic bronchitis and/or emphysema), 100/62.5/25 mcg strength.Maintenance treatment of asthma in adults (100/62.5/25 mcg and 200/62.5/25 mcg strengths).
Important information
It is not a rescue inhaler: it does not relieve sudden shortness of breath. Keep your fast-acting inhaler (such as albuterol) with you.Use it once a day, at the same time; do not take more than one inhalation a day.
Rinse your mouth with water and spit after each use to lower the risk of thrush (oral yeast infection).
Tell your doctor if you have glaucoma, cataracts, urinary retention or an enlarged prostate, heart problems or high blood pressure, or a weak immune system.
If breathing gets worse right after using it (paradoxical bronchospasm), stop and get medical help.
