What All-on-4 actually is
All-on-4 is a full-arch restoration: a fixed bridge of teeth carried on four implants placed at angles to use the bone you still have. It is for people who have lost, or are about to lose, all the teeth in an arch. It is not a cosmetic upgrade and it is not reversible.
In Huatulco the estimated range is $8,000 to $13,000 USD per arch. Both arches roughly double that. It is the single largest case most dental travellers ever book, which is why the questions below matter more here than anywhere else.
What moves the price inside that range
- The material of the bridge. An acrylic provisional bridge and a definitive monolithic zirconia bridge are very different products with very different lifespans and prices.
- The implant system. Established brands cost more and are serviceable by dentists elsewhere years later.
- Extractions. If teeth still have to come out, that is surgery and it is billed.
- Bone grafting. All-on-4 is designed to avoid grafting where possible, but not every mouth cooperates.
- How many arches. Upper and lower is not simply twice the work, but it is close to twice the cost.
- Whether the definitive bridge is included. This is the line that makes cheap quotes look cheap. Ask directly.
The timeline, honestly
Trip one
Consultation, imaging, any extractions, placement of the four implants and, in most protocols, a fixed temporary bridge fitted within a day or two so you do not go home without teeth. Plan on roughly a week on the ground, and expect swelling and a soft diet for part of it.
The healing window
Three to six months while the implants integrate with bone. You live normally, on the temporary bridge, back at home.
Trip two
Impressions, try-in and fitting of the definitive bridge. Usually a shorter stay than the first trip, but it is a real second trip with a real airfare.
Any clinic that describes a finished All-on-4 case as a three-day procedure is describing the first trip only. That is not dishonest by itself, but you need to know which trip you are being quoted for.
Who is not a candidate
- People with uncontrolled diabetes or other conditions that impair healing, until a physician at home says otherwise.
- Heavy smokers, in many clinics' protocols, because of the effect on implant integration.
- People with insufficient bone volume who have ruled out grafting.
- Anyone who cannot commit to the second trip. A temporary bridge is not a permanent solution.
- Anyone taking certain bone medications. Say so up front, before any surgical plan is drawn.

- Is the definitive bridge included in the quoted price, or only the provisional one?
- What implant system, by brand, and what material is the final bridge?
- Who performs the surgery, what is their training, and how many full-arch cases do they do?
- What is the warranty, for how long, and does it require returning to Huatulco?
- What happens if the temporary bridge breaks while I am at home, and who pays?
- Is the second trip already priced, or is it quoted later?
Is Huatulco the right place for this case
