Corrections and removal policy

How a wrong detail gets fixed, when we take a listing down from the ranking, when we do not, and why. This policy applies identically to all 2,933 clinics we measure.

The four rules, up front

If you only read one part of this page, read this one.

1

Errors of fact are always corrected

At no cost and with no conditions.

2

Full removal is reviewed case by case

With verified identity, before anything is done.

3

The score is not changed on request

It changes only when the data behind it changes.

4

None of this depends on a commercial relationship with Molar City

Identical for partner and non-partner clinics.

Money does not buy a correction, a removal, or a position

Point 4 is the one that matters most. This policy is applied identically to Molar City partner clinics and to clinics we have never spoken to. A clinic that pays us nothing gets exactly the same corrections, the same review of its removal request, and the same answer as a partner clinic.

We write it out in full for one reason: if removal depended on money, this would stop looking like an editorial ranking and start looking like leverage. We are not willing to run it that way.

Appearing in the ranking is free and always has been. We never charge to correct or update a listing, and we do not sell positions.

What we publish, and where it comes from

Every listing is built from public business information that the clinic itself published on its own Google Business Profile: the business name, the address, the phone number, the star rating, the number of reviews and the photos. We also record whether the clinic has a website and public social-media profiles.

We do not invent anything and we do not buy databases. We publish nothing a person would not already see by searching for the clinic on Google. Molar City has worked in dental tourism since 2007; the ranking is a separate editorial project, and appearing in it is free.

What the listing measures is explained in full on the methodology page. Molar City is a referral platform: we connect patients with clinics, we do not provide dental care.

Errors of fact: always corrected

If a detail is wrong, tell us and we fix it. At no cost, with no conditions, and with no relationship required. This covers:

  • The clinic name
  • The address
  • The phone number
  • The website
  • Opening hours and city
  • A listing attached to the wrong clinic, or data mixed between two clinics

Tell us which detail is wrong and what the correct one is. If we can check it ourselves in public sources, we check it and correct it. If we cannot, we will ask you for something that lets us confirm it.

When we do remove a listing

  • The clinic has closed. A business that no longer operates does not belong in a list patients use to choose one.
  • The listing is a duplicate. Two entries for the same clinic: we keep one and remove the other.
  • The information is personal, not commercial. For example a private home address that Google had attached to the business by mistake.
  • An order from a competent authority requires it.
  • We cannot support the information with evidence. If we cannot show where a piece of data came from, it does not stay published.

In many cases what is behind a removal request is a wrong detail. That gets corrected — always, at no cost — and the listing stays.

When we do not remove a listing

“My score came out low and I do not like it.”

That is the request we cannot grant. We say it with respect, and we will still answer you — but the answer is no, and here is why.

If asking were enough, the ranking would only have good clinics left and would stop being useful to the patient. The only clinics remaining would be the ones happy with their position. A list that shows only the clinics that scored well is not a ranking: it is an advertisement, and it is worth nothing to the person trying to decide where to be treated.

A low score is not an accusation either. The score measures a digital footprint: reviews, rating, website, social media, photos and how complete the listing is. An excellent clinic that never asked a patient for a review can land near the bottom. That is a limitation of what we measure, and we say so on the methodology page. The way to move it is more public information about the clinic, not less.

The score is not changed on request

We do not hand-adjust scores, up or down, for anyone. The score changes when the public data behind it changes: new reviews, a different average rating, a website that went live, photos that were added, a listing that got completed. Every clinic is scored by the same formula.

There is one other thing that can move a position: the on-site audit. It is an in-person inspection of 41 checkpoints — professional licences, sterilization logs, waste handling, written warranties, implant traceability. The audit verifies what the clinic already does. If it meets the checkpoints, it goes up. If it does not, it goes down — and we publish the result either way.

The audit is paid for as a service, at a fixed fee, before the result is known. What is paid for is the inspection. The outcome is not for sale.

See the 41 checkpoints the audit verifies, with their weight →

Partner

Marks a clinic that has a commercial relationship with Molar City. It is disclosed openly and does not change its score or its position.

Site Verified

It is earned by passing the 41-checkpoint audit. It cannot be bought and does not come with any partner package.

They are two different badges and we never mix them.

How to ask, and how long it takes

  1. Send the request from the form on this page or from the button on any ranking page. Pick the matching topic: fix a detail, claim your listing, or request removal. If it is a removal, tell us the reason.
  2. We confirm who is asking. A correction or a removal changes what the public sees about a business, so identity has to be verified before we act on anything that affects a clinic. Without that, anyone could ask us to remove a competitor. The quickest way is to write from an email on the clinic website domain, or from the phone number already published on the listing. If neither is possible, we will ask you for another way to confirm it.
  3. We reply. A first reply normally goes out within a few business days. A straightforward correction is done as soon as we confirm it. A removal takes longer, because someone has to review it and decide. It can take longer still if we need to go back to the source of the data.
  4. We answer every request, including the ones we turn down. If the answer is no, we tell you why.

We keep dated evidence

For every data point we publish we keep a dated record of the value and where it came from, so a listing can be traced back to the source it came from. Each scan is archived, so it is also possible to see how a data point changed over time.

If you are asking about your own clinic and want to see what we hold and when we captured it, you can request it and we will send it to you.

Frequently asked questions

What does it cost to fix a wrong detail?
Nothing. Errors of fact are always corrected, at no cost and with no conditions: name, address, phone, website, hours, or a listing attached to the wrong clinic. No commercial relationship with Molar City is required.
Will you remove my clinic from the ranking if I ask?
Every removal request is reviewed case by case, with verified identity. We remove when the clinic has closed, when the listing is a duplicate, when the information is personal rather than commercial, when a competent authority orders it, or when we cannot support the information with evidence. What we do not grant is removal because the score came out low.
Can I ask you to raise my score?
No. The score is not changed on request, for anyone. It changes only when the public data behind it changes: reviews, rating, website, social profiles, photos and how complete the listing is. The formula is the same for every clinic.
Does the policy change if my clinic is a Molar City partner?
No. It is identical for partner and non-partner clinics. The same corrections, the same review of a removal request, and the same answer. If removal depended on money, this would stop being an editorial ranking.
Why do you ask me to verify my identity?
Because a correction or a removal changes what the public sees about a business. Without confirming who is asking, anyone could ask us to remove a competitor. We confirm with an email on the clinic website domain, or with the phone number already published on the listing.
Do you keep evidence of the data you publish?
Yes. For every published data point we keep a dated record of the value and where it came from, so a listing can be traced back to its source. If you are asking about your own clinic, we will send it to you.
