The short answer
Aguascalientes is a compact, orderly state capital of about a million people in central Mexico, best known for its spring fair, its hot springs and a strong manufacturing economy. Molar City tracks 178 dental clinics in the city. Published price ranges for large Mexican cities run $850 to $1,500 USD for a single implant, $300 to $550 for a crown and $8,000 to $13,000 for a full-arch All-on-4, about a third of US prices.
Why Aguascalientes
The city grew around automotive plants and their suppliers, which created a large professional middle class and a health sector built for local demand. That means dental prices are set by local salaries and competition among many clinics, not by visitors. The city also has a reputation, unusual in Mexico, for being clean, safe and easy to move around: distances are short, traffic is light by Mexican standards, and most clinics are a short taxi ride from the center.
For a visitor it is a pleasant base. The Plaza de la Patria is framed by the cathedral and the red-stone Palacio de Gobierno with its murals; the Jardín de San Marcos is a classic neoclassical garden; and the museum dedicated to José Guadalupe Posada, the engraver who created the famous Catrina skeleton, is a few blocks away.

Who it suits
Patients who want a calm, safe-feeling city for a week of treatment, people with family in the Bajío region, and travelers combining dentistry with a visit to central Mexico. The airport has had direct flights from several US cities, and León's larger airport is about two hours away.
How to choose a clinic
Start with the independent ranking of Aguascalientes dental clinics, which scores every clinic on the same public signals: review volume, rating, website, social profiles and Google listing quality. No clinic can pay for its position. Then ask who will treat you and their specialty, whether the clinic can plan from X-rays you send, and how it follows up after you fly home.
Safety
Aguascalientes has long been regarded as one of the calmer states in Mexico, and the city is known for being orderly and easy to get around. Still, read the current US State Department advisory before you travel, use authorized taxis or ride-hailing apps, and keep the ordinary precautions you would take in any city of a million people.
Mind the fair dates
Every spring, roughly from mid-April to mid-May, the city hosts the Feria Nacional de San Marcos, one of the largest fairs in Mexico. Hotels fill up and prices rise for those weeks. It can be a fun time to visit, but if your goal is a calm recovery, book treatment outside the fair or reserve your hotel well ahead.
Planning the visit
Plan treatment in blocks: a few days for crowns or root canals, about a week for porcelain veneers, and two trips three to six months apart for implants. Send recent X-rays before booking flights so the clinic can confirm the plan and the number of days.
Paying
Cards are widely accepted; carry some pesos for taxis. Ask whether the clinic accepts dollars. US dental insurance rarely pays a Mexican clinic directly, but some plans reimburse out-of-network care with an itemized receipt.
