The short answer
Porcelain veneers in Dubai typically cost about $500 to $1,000 USD per tooth, roughly AED 1,850 to 3,650, based on Molar City's city-level estimates. A smile makeover of eight to ten upper teeth therefore lands somewhere around $4,000 to $10,000 (roughly AED 14,700 to 36,700). Composite veneers cost less per tooth. Insurance almost never covers veneers because they are cosmetic. The most important decision is not the price but how much of your natural tooth the dentist plans to remove.
Veneers, crowns and the “Hollywood smile”
A veneer is a thin shell bonded to the front of a tooth. Preparation usually removes a small amount of enamel, often well under a millimetre. A crown covers the whole tooth and requires much more reduction. In Dubai, as in Turkey, packages marketed as a “Hollywood smile” sometimes use full crowns on healthy teeth, which is irreversible and removes far more tooth structure than veneers. Before you agree, ask directly: are these veneers or crowns, and how much tooth will be removed?
Materials
Porcelain (feldspathic or lithium disilicate)
Porcelain veneers are made by a lab or milled in the clinic. They resist staining, look natural when done well and typically last many years with good care. Lithium disilicate (often known by the E.max brand) is a common choice for strength and appearance.
Composite
Composite resin is applied and shaped directly on the tooth, often in one visit. It costs less, removes little or no tooth, and can be repaired, but it stains and wears faster and needs polishing or replacement sooner.
Zirconia
Zirconia is very strong but more opaque. It is more common for crowns than for front-tooth veneers, though some labs produce thin, translucent zirconia veneers.
Prices compared
| Item | Dubai (USD) | Dubai (approx. AED) | Typical US (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Porcelain veneer, per tooth | $500 – $1,000 | 1,850 – 3,650 | $1,500 – $2,500 |
| 8 porcelain veneers | $4,000 – $8,000 | 14,700 – 29,400 | $12,000 – $20,000 |
| Zirconia crown, per tooth | $500 – $900 | 1,850 – 3,300 | $1,200 – $1,800 |
| Professional whitening | $250 – $500 | 900 – 1,850 | $500 – $1,000 |
Many patients whiten first, because veneers are matched to the shade of the surrounding teeth and porcelain does not whiten afterwards.
The process, step by step
For porcelain veneers, a careful clinic in Dubai will usually work over two to four appointments spread across one to three weeks:
- Consultation and records: photos, X-rays, scans and a discussion of what you want to change. Gum health is checked first; veneers on inflamed gums rarely look good.
- Design and mock-up: a wax-up or digital design, often transferred to your teeth as a temporary resin mock-up so you can see and feel the result before anything is removed.
- Preparation: a thin layer of enamel is removed where needed, impressions or scans are taken, and temporary veneers are placed.
- Fitting: the lab-made veneers are tried in, adjusted for colour and shape, and bonded. A follow-up visit checks the bite and the gums.
Living in Dubai means you can take this at a sensible pace and come back for small adjustments, which is one of the real advantages of treating at home. If the mock-up does not feel right, say so; it is far easier to change a design than a finished veneer.
What drives the price
- The lab and the ceramist. A skilled ceramist layering porcelain by hand costs more than a standard milled veneer.
- Digital smile design. Mock-ups, photos and a trial smile add time and cost, and they are worth it for a large case.
- The dentist's experience in cosmetic work. Veneers are as much about judgement as technique.
- The location. As with all treatment in Dubai, premium addresses charge more.
How to choose a cosmetic dentist in Dubai
- Ask to see before-and-after photos of the dentist's own cases, ideally with similar starting points to yours.
- Ask for a mock-up or trial smile before any tooth is prepared.
- Ask how many teeth they propose and why. Ten veneers is not automatically better than six.
- Get the material, the lab and the price per tooth in writing.
- Check the licence on the Dubai Health Authority register.
Your insurance: check the policy, not the brochure
Most Dubai residents have health insurance through their employer, and many assume it covers the dentist. Often it covers only part of it. A typical employer plan includes basic dental care — an examination, a cleaning, X-rays, fillings and sometimes simple extractions — with an annual limit and a co-payment. Implants, veneers, whitening and orthodontics are frequently excluded or capped, and crowns may be covered only when they are medically necessary. Plans differ a great deal, so check your policy: look for the dental benefit, the annual cap, the co-payment percentage, whether pre-approval is needed and whether your clinic is in the insurer's network. Ask the clinic's front desk to request pre-approval before treatment starts; it is a routine request and it avoids a surprise bill.
When veneers are not the right answer
Veneers are not a fix for everything. If your gums are inflamed or receding, that comes first. If your teeth are badly crowded, orthodontics or clear aligners may give a better and more conservative result, sometimes followed by a few veneers. If you grind heavily, porcelain can chip, and your dentist may suggest a night guard or a different plan. And if your main concern is colour, whitening alone may be enough. A good cosmetic dentist will tell you when the answer is less treatment, not more.
What about Turkey?
Turkey has become known for veneer and smile-makeover packages at a fraction of Dubai's prices, and many residents compare. Two cautions apply. First, check whether a package uses veneers or full crowns. Second, veneers need adjustments and occasionally re-bonding; if your dentist is a flight away, a chipped veneer becomes a trip. For a full smile makeover the saving can be large; for two or three veneers, most residents are better off at home. Our Istanbul and Antalya guides show the other side.
Caring for veneers in Dubai's climate
Coffee, tea, karak and shisha all stain natural teeth and composite; porcelain resists staining better. Wear a night guard if you grind your teeth, avoid biting very hard objects, and keep up cleanings every six months, which many insurance plans do cover.

Frequently asked questions
How much are veneers in Dubai in AED?
Roughly AED 1,850 to 3,650 per porcelain veneer, based on our city-level estimates. Composite veneers cost less per tooth.
Does insurance cover veneers in Dubai?
Almost never, because veneers are usually considered cosmetic. Check your policy in case of a medical reason.
Are veneers or crowns better for a smile makeover?
Veneers remove much less tooth structure. Crowns are for teeth that are broken, heavily filled or root-treated. Ask which you are getting and why.
How long do porcelain veneers last?
Many last a decade or more with good care, but no dentist can guarantee a lifespan. Grinding, biting hard objects and gum disease shorten it.
